Getting Here is Easy – Leaving is the Hard Part

The village of Manson is nestled on the shores Lake Chelan in the heart of Washington state,
encircled by the Cascade mountains and Columbia River.  It is located on U.S. Highway 150,
7 miles up-lake from the city of Chelan, in the beautiful Lake Chelan Valley.

 

Directions to Manson:

From Seattle: I-90: Take I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass through Cle-Elum and take Exit 85,
continue east over Blewett Pass on US-97. Just before reaching Wenatchee, take the exit to
97 Alternate (97A). Follow 97A to Chelan, then Highway 150 to Manson.


US 2: Follow US2 over Stevens Pass, through Leavenworth and just before Wenatchee,
take the exit to 97 Alternate (97A). Follow 97A to Chelan, then Highway 150 to Manson.

From Spokane:
Follow US 2 west to Orondo, go north on 97 twenty-three miles to the bridge
that crosses to Chelan Falls. Take 150 up the gorge to Chelan and follow the signs to Manson.

 

Regional Highway Access

Manson is only a 60-minute drive from Wenatchee, which is at the crossroads of three major
highways:  U.S. Highway 2 provides a westbound connection to Seattle and Everett, and
Eastbound to Spokane.  U.S. Highway 97 connects with Ellensburg and Yakima to the South
and Chelan and Okanogan to the North.  State Route 28 provides direct access to
Quincy, Ephrata, and Moses Lake.

Air Travel


Pangborn Memorial Airport is the region's major commercial airport jointly owned by the Ports of Chelan and Douglas counties.  Horizon Air provides frequent commuter air services. In addition to commercial passenger and freight service, Pangborn is the home base of 131 aircraft, and of Executive Flight, a major air charter service providing executive charter service as well as medical transport flights. A visitor to the airport might see a variety of aircraft ranging from gliders to experimental aircraft, to business jets to the current mainstay commercial aircraft, Horizon’s DeHaviland Dash 8. Lake Chelan Airport, a municipal general aviation airport located 3 miles north east of the City of Chelan, accommodating an estimated 2,500 aircraft operations annually.  This small airport is jointly owned by the Port of Chelan County and the City of Chelan and serves a community of approximately 6,500 people.

 

No commercial flights serve this area, but private pilots, as well as forest service, law enforcement, emergency medical, and agriculture service personnel, use the airport throughout the year.  The primary air facility in the Lake Chelan Valley, the airport offers fuel, hangar space, aircraft parking (ramp or tie down) and a comfortable pilots lounge.  Approximately 69 aircraft are based at the Chelan Airport, including single engine airplanes, multi-engine airplanes, helicopters and ultralight

Public Transportation

 

Link Transit: You can sit back and relax.  Link Transit provides public transportation to residents and visitors of Manson and throughout Chelan and Douglas Counties. The benefits of riding Link Transit are endless. From saving money on rising gas prices to reducing pollution in the environment, there are reasons for everyone to take the bus.

 

Link Transit runs 14 fixed routes with approximately 45 accessible vehicles. Communities along Lake Chelan are served; from Manson to along the Columbia and Wenatchee Rivers – Wenatchee, Leavenworth and Waterville. Replica trolleys operate in downtown Manson, Chelan, Wenatchee and East Wenatchee, Cashmere and Leavenworth. Paratransit service is provided to ADA-eligible individuals.

 

Link Transit operates Monday through Friday, from 5 AM until 8 PM, with shorter service hours on Saturday. SkiLink service is offered weekends and holidays to Mission Ridge Ski Area from December until April.

 

All fixed route buses are equipped with bicycle racks year round.
 

Fares vary depending on the distance traveled. Day passes are available for purchase on the bus, and cost either $1 or $2. Monthly passes are available for $15 for a one-zone pass or $20 for a two-zone pass. Rail

 

Amtrak service is available with one passenger train daily from Wenatchee to Seattle, Spokane and points beyond.  Burlington Northern's mainline passes through Wenatchee with up to 10 freight trains daily.  Schedules and route information are availabe online at www.amtrak.com or by calling 1-800-872-7245.

Platform and Shelter is located between Kittitas & South Columbia Streets in Wenatchee, WA.  Bus stop is across the street from train platform

Buses


Northwestern Trailways provides daily, scheduled bus service to the Wenatchee area (Spokane, Everett and Tacoma) via I-90 and Highway 2 over scenic Stevens pass.  For your comfort, all Northwestern Stage Lines coaches are equipped with air conditioning, an on-board restroom, reclining seats with headrests, footrests and tinted windows.  Feel free to bring reading materials, radio headsets and a small pillow for your enjoyment, or simply enjoy the scenery from the large windows.  You are welcome to bring food and non-alcoholic beverages on-board for your personal consumption.  A ticket agency is located at Columbia Station in Wenatchee at 300 S. Columbia.
